Where can I find 
Chocolate-Backed kingfishers in Uganda?


Uganda is the east end of their distribution habitat. 
They can be found in the canopy of Budongo Forest Reserve.
It might be appear if you imitate their calls.

The Bird for today is Chocolate-Backed kingfisher,

This is spectacular forest Kingfisher with a dark chocolate head, back and white below and a blue panel in the wing, in the tail and a red bill.
They prefer spending their time in the canopy of trees. 
It is a common rainforest species that connote be confused with any other Kingfisher in Africa.
It breeds in termite mounds or in the nests of arboreal ants.
As forest cover reduce, it is believed that they are reducing in numbers
Although it is a kingfisher, CBK does not feed on fish.

They are found in Budongo forest.
