NFA bird Podcast: I am Johnnie Kamugisha.
The bird for today is the Bar-tailed Trogon.

This is a beautiful secretive long tailed forest bird but that sits motionless for a long time.
It is about 30 cm long with yellow bill and feet.
The under side of the tail has black and white fine bar rings.
The breast and B ellie is red.
The head of the female is brown and male's is blue-black.
The back is green.

It is one bird that when it calls for example, you are in the forest and you hear it calling like, (Johnnie imitating calls)
That’s second call, if you don’t know it, you will think it is 2-3km away, when it is right in front of you, since it is motionless you will not see it. That is one reason you need Johnnie to take you to Echya forest to show it to you.
They are high altitude birds and so found in Bwindi, Echuya forest, Mgahinga among others.

The bird for today is the Bar-tailed Trogon and am Johnnie Kamugisha.
